About:
After living in Nevada for the past 18 memorable years, John McNicholas recently returned to El Segundo, California, where he graduated from high school in 1980. Mr. McNicholas intends to focus his practice on Federal criminal matters in the Central District of California, although he still accepts referrals on certain criminal and civil matters in California and Nevada
Mr. McNicholas spends much of his work in federal courts representing those accused of white collar crimes. He is on retainer for two major automobile corporations involving product liability defense matters. Mr. McNicholas is well-respected for his ability to analyze and evaluate cases, as he has been an Arbitrator for the Eighth Judicial District Court (Las Vegas), for the Better Business Bureau and for the State Bar of Nevada Attorney/client Fee Dispute Committee for several years.
Mr. McNicholas served as a deputy district attorney in Washoe County, Nevada for two years where he served as a criminal prosecutor emphasizing automobile accident litigation, vehicular homicide, DUI, domestic violence.
Prior to moving to Nevada, Mr. McNicholas was an associate at Popelka, Allard McCowan & Jones, San Jose, California.

Admitted to Nevada Bar, California Bar, United States District Court, Nevada 1990; Northern District, California, Central District of California and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Education:
Mr. McNicholas attended Santa Clara University School of Law. He earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1988. He served as a comments editor on the Santa Clara Law Review and wrote articles for publication. Mr. McNicholas had the pleasure of teaching tutorial courses in criminal law and real property while at Santa Clara.
Mr. McNicholas attended the University of California, Los Angeles where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1984. At his graduation, Mr. McNicholas was honored as a Chancellor's Marshall for service to the UCLA community. Mr. McNicholas played on the UCLA hockey team for four years, and was a team captain during 2 seasons. He was President of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and involved in campus government. Mr. McNicholas served as a United States Senate Intern immediatley after his graduation from UCLA.
